May is Mental Health Awareness month. The HHS Counseling team have organized a Black Knights Unite MH awareness week. The goal is to start to break the stigma surrounding MH and raise awareness that MH is important to talk about!

Principal’s Message

 

 HHS Community,

            Here We Go! Bring on May. We only have five short weeks remaining in the 2024-2025 school year, and this is our last uninterrupted week. As the weather gets warmer and the distractions increase, we need our students to continue to do their best in their classes, follow all school rules, including the dress code, show up to school on time, and finish the year strong. We have had a tremendous school year, and our students continue to be ALL IN for Hempfield High School. With the faith, love, and support of our families and community, we look forward to ending this school year on a high note.

            Between now and the last day of school, our students still have so much to accomplish. In our few remaining weeks, our students will take Advanced Placement Exams, Keystone Exams, attend awards ceremonies, perform in numerous musical concerts, and our spring sports teams will compete in their respective post-seasons. If you’re a student, now is NOT the time to take your foot off the gas. Now is the time to buckle down and say, “I can do hard things.” We look forward to seeing our students continue to thrive and rise to the occasion.

This is a reminder for parents/guardians of current 11th-grade students regarding immunization requirements for attendance in 12th grade. This information is sent out early so the required immunizations can be scheduled at your child’s next wellness visit.

For attendance in 12th grade, students will need 1 dose of meningococcal conjugate (MCV), at the age of 16 or after, prior to the first day of their 12th grade year. Please visit the HSD Health/Nursing Services website or contact your school nurse if you have any questions.

Earlier today, some families in the Landisville area may have received an alert from the Hempfield Water Authority regarding elevated nitrate levels in their water system.

Please know that the district has been informed that water in all buildings on the Landisville campus — including Hempfield High School, Landisville Middle School, Landisville Education Center, Landisville Intermediate Center, Landisville Primary Center, and the Administration Building — has been tested and is not affected by this issue. There are no concerns with nitrate levels in our schools’ water.

The Hempfield Water Authority is actively working to resolve the situation and will notify us if anything changes.
