  • Attention Parents of Current Grade 6 Students

Posted by Kelly Burkholder on 5/2/2025 10:00:00 AM

This is a reminder for parents/guardians of current 6th-grade students regarding immunization requirements for attendance in 7th grade. This information is sent out early so the required immunizations can be scheduled at your child’s next wellness visit.

For attendance in 7th grade, students will need 1 dose of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) and 1 dose of meningococcal conjugate (MCV) prior to the first day of their 7th grade year. Please visit the HSD Health/Nursing Services website or contact your school nurse if you have any questions.

  • 5th Grade Growth and Development Program

Posted by Ian Daecher on 5/1/2025 3:30:00 PM

Each spring the Hempfield School District provides a program on growth and development for fifth-grade boys and girls. The program is presented in gender-alike groups during the school day.

We encourage you to view these brief video links (found on this page) before the school program so that you are aware of the content and can discuss it with your son or daughter at home after the program.

We understand that some parents may choose to provide this education to their child on their own. If you have a significant objection to your child participating in this program at school, please contact your child’s teacher prior to the presentation. An alternate activity will then be provided for your child during the time of the growth and development program.

Our program is Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 10:15 am
