  • CMS 7th Grade Step Up Day – A Strong Start for Our Newest Knights!

Posted by Kelly Burkholder on 7/15/2025 7:00:00 AM

All rising 7th grade students are strongly encouraged to attend CMS Step Up Day on Tuesday, August 19, before the first day of school. This special event is designed to help students feel confident and connected as they begin middle school.

Throughout the morning, students will participate in engaging activities to explore the building, practice using their lockers, walk through their class schedules, meet staff, and learn what it means to be a CMS Black Knight. They'll also enjoy a pep rally and snacks with their new peers.

The day will run from 7:20 a.m. – 11:40 a.m. Buses will run their normal morning routes.

Please note: Only 7th grade students and designated peer helpers should attend. 8th grade students should not ride the bus or report to school that day.

We’re excited to welcome the Class of 2031 and help them step into middle school with confidence!

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer so far! Summer is an excellent time to relax with family, dive into a good book, and even practice a little math in the kitchen.
We’re thrilled to share that construction on the pavilion above the outdoor classroom has begun this week! This exciting addition will enhance the learning experience in that space for years to come. A huge thank-you goes out to the PTO, our families, and the community organizations that helped make this project possible.
Looking ahead, the PTO will kick off the new school year in August with "Popsicles Under the Pavilion"—a fun event to welcome families back to school. Stay tuned for more details!
